Lifeline Animal Project manages the county animal services for Fulton and DeKalb counties, where a recent influx of dogs needing homes has exceeded the shelter’s capacity.
The non-profit said that they would have to euthanize more than 100 dogs if they are not adopted or fostered by 7 pm on Thursday evening. Tiki Artist with Lifeline said that even short-term fostering goes a long way to alleviate the pressure on shelters.
Artist joined “All Things Considered” to talk about the factors driving an increase in animals coming into the shelters, what fostering or adopting entails and how the community can help.
