A Recap: Georgia Lawmakers Wrap Up 2019 Legislative Session

Day 40 at the Georgia Legislature has come and gone.

State lawmakers wrapped up the 2019 session around midnight Tuesday after a long day of furious last-minute maneuvering.

A few key bills met their fate for this year on the final day of the session, such as one allowing the in-state cultivation of medical marijuana.

WABE’s Emma Hurt was at the Georgia Capitol watching all the last-minute action. She joined Sam Whitehead on “Morning Edition” for a rundown of what happened.
