Amid Pandemic, City Schools of Decatur Working To Make Sure Students Have Equitable Outcomes
Dr. Maggie Fehrman, the new superintendent of City Schools of Decatur, says it’s important for everyone to work together to make sure students have high equitable outcomes academically and emotionally.
Superintendent Fehrman, a guest on Friday’s edition on “Closer Look,” told show host Rose Scott that the school system’s student enrollment is just under 6,000 students and described the back-to-school in-person atmosphere as “probable and high energy.”
The veteran educator further discussed her district’s back-to-school plan and explained why mask-wearing is required.
Fehrman also discussed other safety measures in place to keep staff, students and teachers safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
