People all over the country took time Monday to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., including those who knew him personally.

Andrew Young was a close friend of King’s and a key figure himself in the civil rights movement.

The former U.S. congressman, Atlanta mayor and U.N. ambassador sat down with Sam Whitehead on “All Things Considered” to share his reflections on King on the federal holiday commemorating his life and work.
