Appalachian Trail Serves As Backdrop For ‘The Precipice’

The latest Mike Bowditch novel by author Paul Doiron is set once again in the rural landscape of Maine.

Two Georgia characters, young women who are recent graduates of a Christian college, are at the heart of “The Precipice.” The story revolves around their disappearance while hiking The Hundred Mile Stretch, the most remote part of the Appalachian Trail.

As “City Lights” contributor Michele Ross explains, Bowditch, a youthful Maine game warden, faces a complicated task in trying to find them.

Ross said if you like the outdoors, “The Precipice” is loaded with detailed descriptions of the beauty of Maine.

The story, and the Bowditch series that Doiron continues, also contains “very vivid and real characters.”
