In the metro Atlanta area, each local district has approached re-opening differently throughout the COVID-19 pandemic

Schools in Clayton and DeKalb have kept students online-only for the time being.

Meanwhile, last week, Atlanta Public Schools brought some younger students back into the classroom.

Older students will have the option to return later this month.

As each district navigates this, Closer Look is launching a series of conversations with local leadership on the steps they’re taking to keep students and staff safe.

On Wednesday’s program, we begin with Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Lisa Herring.
