Terence Stewart, the president and CEO of Atlanta Black Pride, says at the beginning of the year, the organization had plans to host events for Atlanta Black Pride’s 25th anniversary virtually—but when the City of Atlanta began accepting permit applications for in-person events, Atlanta Black Pride submitted its application with a COVID plan.

On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look” Stewart talked with show host Rose Scott about the history and mission of one the largest Black Pride events in the U.S.

Stewart, who has worked for Atlanta Black Pride for 10 years, also discussed COVID protocols in place to keep everyone safe at Atlanta Black Pride events over Labor Day weekend, and how eventgoers can get vaccinated during the festivities.
