Atlanta Creative Gathering Mixes Inspiration With Breakfast

Each month for the last four years, a growing number of creative professionals in the Atlanta area has met for breakfast.

But CreativeMornings Atlanta goes beyond the usual networking and professional development functions of these types of events.

On “City Lights,” Blake Howard, who started the Atlanta chapter of CreativeMornings four years ago, explained how the organization is working to foster a creative spirit that spreads to the arts and public projects like the Atlanta BeltLine.

“Our vision is to inspire and gather the creative community in Atlanta,” he said in an interview with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes. “Through doing it monthly and creating this monthly, we will continue to see the creative community in Atlanta rise.”

Howard is a co-founder of Matchstic, an Atlanta branding agency that is one of the sponsors of CreativeMornings Atlanta, which are free and open to all creatives.

More than 100 CreativeMornings chapters meet in the U.S. and internationally, and each month’s breakfast features a local speaker addressing the group on a selected topic.

The next Atlanta breakfast meeting is July 31 at the Grace Midtown Church. Online registration begins next Monday, July 24, and Howard said the limited number of spots are reserved in just a few minutes.
