To celebrate the arrival of spring, the music app Pandora, partnered with local street artists all across the country to create large-scale murals.

Each mural has a QR code that viewers can scan with their phone in order to pull up a playlist curated by each artist. The initiative is called “Sound On.”

The murals celebrate that spring has finally arrived and the audio allows the vibes of the graffiti to be heard audibly.

Local artist Mr. Totem talked to “City Lights” about his robotic mural on the corner of Somerset Terrace and Ponce de Leon Avenue on the side of Liberty Tattoo.

His artwork is known for its robotic armored letters and characters called the “Mechanical Battle.” He is a Georgia native who has been apart of the graffiti world for over 25 years. His playlist ranges from the soulful sound of Donny Hathaway to British trip-hop music of Bonobo.

“These [songs] are the basic DNA of my soul. You can get a very good understanding of where I’m coming from as an artist via the music I listen to,” said Mr. Totem about his playlist.

Viewers of the mural can use this QR code to access the playlist on Pandora. (Summer Evans/WABE)
