Elisabeth Remy Johnson was appointed principal harpist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 1995, and holds the endowed Carl and Sally Gable Chair. “I’ve done all of my growing up with some of my best friends in the world right beside me in the orchestra, and I feel very, very fortunate,” said Johnson.

In addition to her full-time role with the ASO, she is active as a chamber musician nationally and in Atlanta with the Merian Ensemble, the group she founded, which is dedicated to performing and commissioning chamber music composed by women. Johnson will be in the solo spotlight with the ASO playing the Harp Concerto by Jennifer Higdon in the upcoming concerts with conductor Robert Spano. She joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk about her solo and 30 years with the Orchestra.
