Atlanta’s Longest Running Artist Co-operative Celebrates 20 Years
The B Complex on the Southwest side of Atlanta is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The co-operative studio space is one of the longest-running artist-owned communities in Atlanta.
Not only are they celebrating an anniversary, but so are their 100-year-old buildings. The “Retrospectare” events began last weekend and run through this Saturday evening.
Lois Retizes spoke with the B Complex founder Bill Gould, along with Patton White, the artistic director of Beacon Dance, a group performing Friday evening.

Thursday, Oct. 3:
7 p.m. – “Claire” Special Silent Film screening accompanied by a live a 3 string and percussion quartet with Composer & Conductor Brian Mitchell.
Atlanta filmmaker Milford Thomas’ CLAIRE is a 53-minute black and white silent film shot on an antique hand-crank 35mm (Mitchell Standard) camera by Jonathan Mellinger.

7 p.m. – World Premiere performance of “Decades” by Beacon Dance (Free)
Saturday, Oct. 5:
1-7:30 p.m. – Artist Open Studio Tours (Free)
8-midnight – Closing Night Party with the performance of “Decades” by Beacon Dance (Free)
