Ballethnic Puts A New Spin On A Christmas Classic

A trip to see “The Nutcracker” is a holiday tradition for many families. Atlanta-based dance company Ballethnic is putting a twist on the classic ballet.

Their version is known as the “Urban Nutcracker.” The “Urban Nutcracker” puts an Atlanta spin on the classic play by updating the music and characters of the classic ballet.

“City Lights” producer Ryan McFadin sat down with Nina Gilreath and Waverly Lucas co-directors of Ballethnic. Nina began by explaining how the company got its start. The “Urban Nutcracker” runs through Dec. 22.
