Beth Schiavo Named Executive Director Of Center For Puppetry Arts

The board of directors at the Center for Puppetry Arts named Beth Schiavo as the organization’s new executive director starting July 1.

Schiavo says of her new position, “Working with an inspiring group of leaders, I have been humbled by the innovative people of the center – their resilience and their passion to continue engaging with patrons during this challenging time. I am excited to continue this journey to see what the future holds and to be a part of the center’s expanding reach to new audiences.”

Schiavo joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to discuss her new role and the center’s upcoming summer season. The highlight of the season will be the reopening of The Jim Henson Collection Gallery and the Global Collection Gallery starting July 10.

The center opens the season with a digital production of “Jack and the Beanstalk,” in a series of live online puppeteer shows created by famed puppeteer David Stephens.
