Historic October heat didn’t stop hundreds of fans from descending on SunTrust Park several hours before the start of Game 1 of the National League Division Series.

“Watching this team come together and make it this far, I’m thrilled,” said Gina Long of Alpharetta.  “I’m here to support and it’s my hobby. The kids are in school so mom is here.”

“We probably haven’t missed a game on TV this year,” said Richard Bowman who drove all the way from Bristow, Virginia with his wife.

Game 2 is Friday night at SunTrust Park before the series shifts to St. Louis this weekend.

“Well, we’re from Atlanta, so we started back with Henry Aaron and went they opened at Fulton County,” said Jim Corona, who expressed confidence in the Braves’ chances in the series.

“Sweep ’em in three,” said Corona.

“We’ll take ’em in four, Braves in four,” said Norman Warrick of Marietta.

Warrick says he attends games all all levels of the Braves minor league system. He also takes hundreds of photographs at each game.

“Braves all the way,” said Melissa Presno from Augusta.
