Christmas at ‘Downton Abbey’

Fans of the public television series “Downton Abbey” have certainly been through a lot with the Crawleys over the past four years.

Viewers have witnessed the sinking of the Titanic and other historic events through the eyes of the fictional aristocratic English family. Downton Abbey’s” audience has also endured the sometimes sudden departure of beloved cast members.

Among all the upheaval in Downton, at least one element remains constant: its music. John Lunn is the composer for the popular British drama, and he had a hand in curating and writing for a new album, “Christmas at Downton Abbey.”

Lois Reitzes spoke with John Lunn via skype, and she asked the composer how the Christmas CD reflects the show.The broadcast version of this story

The “Downton Abbey” Christmas special airs Christmas day in the United Kingdom. Here in the states, season five begins in January.
