Not only are summer blockbusters in theaters, there’s also a plethora of new TV shows on streaming apps.

WABE’s City Lights film music commentator, Dr. Scott Stewart sat down with Lois Reitzes to discuss the new sizzling summer soundtracks from the latest releases.

In 2018 alone, 33 million Americans dropped their cable subscriptions for streaming apps.

Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and other streaming apps generate close to 500 shows that are currently on air. Later this summer, scary classics like “It” and “The Shining” will be back with sequels. Plus “Godzilla: King of Monsters,” which was filmed in Atlanta, is currently in theaters and has an epic-sized soundtrack by Bear McCreary.

Stewart also discussed the Disney remakes from “Aladdin” to “The Lion King” to “Dumbo.”
