Clerical Abuse Survivor Talks About The Pope’s Crisis Meeting With Bishops
From February 21-24, Pope Francis and more than 100 bishops from the Catholic Church around the world will be meeting in Rome.
They will try to address the crisis brought about by years of widespread abuse of children by clergy, and the cover-ups by some bishops and other church leaders. This is the first time a meeting like this has ever been held, and abuse survivors are watching.
One of them is Chris Templeton of Savannah.
Last October a former priest, Wayland Brown, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexual assault against children–including Chris Templeton–over a period of years. Templeton spoke with WABE’s Denis O’Hayer on “All Things Considered.”
