Cobb Officials Imagine A Trail Through Entire County

Imagine a multi-use trail from the very top of Cobb County, all the way south to the Silver Comet trail, and beyond the Atlanta BeltLine.

That’s what Cobb Travel and Tourism is trying to get cities and businesses in the area to start thinking about.

“It’s very much about creating a sense of place for our neighborhoods and creating a complete connection throughout our community,” said the tourism agency’s CEO Holly Quinlin.

The idea is called the Cobb Greenway, and it’s probably years away, but Quinlin thinks it would be good for cities and businesses in the area.

“If you’re at a hotel and you want to know how to get out, get some exercise, move and see the community that you’re in, this would be a great way for the community to access that,” Quinlin said.

Money would be a big issue, and Quinlin said the agency can’t pay even a small part of the bill on its own. She said the agency hopes to begin mapping Cobb County’s current trails in January.
