Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta Renews Support for WABE’s Coffee Conversations with Rose Scott

ATLANTA (April 16, 2025) – WABE, Atlanta’s home for NPR and PBS, today announced that the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta has renewed its commitment to Coffee Conversations with Rose Scott, awarding a $50,000 grant to support the acclaimed civic engagement series through March 2026.

The continued partnership, begun in 2018, provides WABE with funding to expand its community-centered programming, amplify underrepresented voices, and spotlight neighborhood-level stories that often go unheard, dovetailing the Community Foundation’s vision to make the region more equitable and prosperous for all who call Atlanta home. As part of the Closer Look brand, Coffee Conversations brings the award-winning journalism of Rose Scott directly to Atlanta residents—hosting roundtable-style discussions in local coffee shops, community centers, and cultural spaces across the metro region.

“We are honored and grateful for the Community Foundation’s sustained investment in this series,” said Rose Scott, host and executive producer of Closer Look and Coffee Conversations. “This platform gives us the chance to meet Atlantans where they are, listen deeply, and have honest conversations about the issues shaping their neighborhoods. It’s a privilege to hold space for these dialogues, and the community’s trust and support make that possible.”

“WABE and the conversations they create are what’s best about Atlanta,” Tim Bresnahan – vice president of philanthropy, Community Foundation, added. “Our partnership allows meaningful conversations about what we can do as informed Atlanta citizens to improve our neighborhoods to keep happening, and that is vital in creating a better Atlanta for all.

The $50,000 grant, issued through the Foundation’s TogetherATL fund, supports WABE’s mission to provide trusted journalism and meaningful public discourse through innovative, accessible programming.
