NAACP, Experian Launch Program To Help Black Homeowners Amid Pandemic

The deadline is quickly approaching for a new mortgage relief grant designed for African American homeowners who are at risk of losing their due to the COVID-19 hardship.

The Home Preservation Grant was birthed out of a new partnership between the NAACP Empowerment Programs and Experian’s United for Financial Health initiative to help Atlanta homeowners experiencing a COVID-19 hardship.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look” Richard Rose, the president of the Atlanta NAACP branch, says the deadline to apply for the grant that will pay up to 10,000 in mortgage relief has been extended from Tuesday to Thursday.



During the conversation, President Rose talked with show host Rose Scott about the importance of the pilot program, program qualifications and the need for Congress to pass legislation that will help homeowners amid the global health crisis.
