Decatur Book Festival Reveals This Year’s Keynote Speaker

This coming Labor Day weekend, some 600 authors will gather for this year’s AJC Decatur Book Festival. Festival representatives, including Program Director Philip Rafshoon and Executive Director Daren Wang announced some of their plans for the festival yesterday, as the arts and literary press packed into Leon’s Full Service in downtown Decatur to hear the news. Lois Reitzes sat down with Myke Johns and Atlanta PlanIt‘s Kimberly Harbrecht to talk about some of this year’s highlights.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Erica Jong. Jong is the author of over 20 books, including “Fear of Flying,” which made her an instant pillar of the sexual revolution and a hero to millions. Jong will be in conversation with Roxane Gay, author of “Bad Feminist” and “An Untamed State.”

The AJC Decatur Book Festival will be taking place in numerous venues in downtown Decatur Sept. 4-6.
