Decatur WatchFest is in its final stretch, and the city is preparing for its last 11 days of 2026 World Cup action after seeing 140,000 visitors in its first month.
WatchFest will run through July 19 on Decatur Square and will feature the quarterfinals, semifinals and the World Cup final. Seven more concerts are also ahead, including a performance by the Indigo Girls.
According to a news release, the total number of visitors has so far exceeded the organizers’ expectations.
“Decatur WatchFest ’26 is having the strong economic impact we’d hoped for as many of our local businesses are seeing their best activity in years,” Decatur City Manager Andrea Arnold said. “As with our Olympics efforts in 1996, a positive long-term impact on economic development is expected as new-to-Decatur visitors decide to move their families and businesses to the area.”
The free event will have all three big screens active for all remaining matches. Below is a schedule showing each match.
