A DeKalb County law enforcement officer is hoping to clear his name after a weekend arrest.

Sheriff Jeffrey Mann is facing charges of indecency and obstruction.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quotes an Atlanta police report that says Mann exposed himself while walking toward a police officer Saturday night in Piedmont Park.

The report obtained by the AJC also says the officer identified himself as a cop and ordered Mann to stop.

Mann fled the scene on foot but was eventually caught after a quarter-of-a-mile chase, the report said.

He bonded out of jail Sunday morning.

In a statement Mann released to Channel 2, he called the whole matter a misunderstanding and said he hopes to clear his name.
