- 0:00: Today we begin a three-part series of mayoral debates focused on several cities in metro Atlanta. First, a look at the city of Chamblee where the incumbent, Eric Clarkson, is seeking re-election and has a challenger in Van Pappas. A conversation with Pappas on his vision for the city. Also joining today’s debate, as a guest moderator, is Scott Belzer, a reporter for the Champion Newspaper who covers education and other issues in DeKalb County.
- 25:15: It’s Halloween, which means children all over the country will be out tonight trick or treating. For children with food allergies, some of those treats could be life-threatening. Dr. Jennifer Shih, medical director of Pediatric Allergy Clinic at Children’s Health Clinic Atlanta, explains how children with allergies can safely enjoy Halloween festivities. And we hear from local mom, Jennifer Knox, who has two children with food allergies.
- 42:27: Today might be Halloween, but it’s also busy time of year for those who work as Santa Claus. Local Santa, Scott Lattimore, explains why his business is already getting underway.
Programming Note: Chamblee Mayor Eric Clarkson declined to participate in Closer Look’s debate series.
