- 21:48: The City of Refuge is an over 200,000 square foot campus on Atlanta’s West Side dedicated to providing social services such as transitional housing, on-site medical and mental health care, childcare, and vocational training. Its founder Bruce Deel, who is also the pastor of The Mission Church, shares why he started the organization and discusses his new book, “Trust First: A True Story About the Power of Giving People Second Chances”.
- 40:51: The Good Samaritan Health Center first opened its doors in 1999 with the mission to provide healthcare to those in need in the city of Atlanta. Since then, Good Samaritan has expanded to a facility located off Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy Northwest on the city’s Westside. The Closer Look team recently visited the Center, which offers services including medical, dental, fitness and cooking classes and even an urban farm. Today, we hear part two of that conversation, which includes a tour of the campus.
