0:00: Rose gives a news brief about how Hurricane Michael has been upgraded to a Category 4 storm with potential winds of 145 miles per hour. Yesterday, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal declared a State of Emergency for 92 counties throughout south Georgia. Today, while visiting the State Operations Center at the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, Deal announced that 16 additional counties have been added to the list, bringing the total up to 108. He also noted that the state has requested a federal declaration of emergency, to provide funding from the federal level for the cost of both preparation and potential impact.

And Atlanta Public Schools wants some changes to existing tax districts before it’s approved, because Superintendent Dr. Meria Carstarphen says the school system is on the hook for too much money.
