  • 0:00: Georgia is 5th in the nation when it comes to women owned-businesses, and over the last few years Georgia has become the stop state for Latinas starting their own businesses. There are, however, still challenges and economic development is just one of many topics discussed at this year’s Latina Empowerment Conference, which takes place this weekend at the Infinite Energy Center in Gwinnett County and is presented by the Latin American Association (LAA). The free conference will bring together more than 1200 exhibitors, companies, and women from the surrounding Latina community. We learn more from Monica Cucalon, Latina economic empowerment manager for the LAA and also Elisa Molina, who has participated in the organization’s Latina women economic development programs. You can learn more about the event here.
