Wednesday on “Closer Look with Rose Scott”:

  • 0:00: Rose Scott gives a news brief with an overview of observances taking place today in remembrance of those killed 18 years ago in the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
  • 2:22: Today, “Closer Look” kicks off a two-part series, “Redeveloping Atlanta.” We begin at the Mall West End, which has been a staple in the historic West End community for years. The Closer Look team visited the Mall to hear from developers Ryan Gravel and Donray Von, who have proposed a multimillion-dollar plan to redevelop the area with restaurants, storefronts and office space. Gravel, who is also known as the visionary for the BeltLine project, and Von, an investor, say their goal is to develop the area responsibly and with the neighborhood in mind.

  • 30:52: We continue today’s program dedicated to development on the West Side with a trip to the MET. Just over a year ago the West End property was purchased by the development firm Carter. “Closer Look” visited the development team behind the project and took a tour of the  1.1M – square foot project to meet some of its longtime and new tenants. We learn more from Carter’s Executive Vice President David Nelson and Director Adam Parker.
