DESCRIPTION:Join WABE for the Film Event Series: WABE Cinema Social!\nWABE Cinema Social is a monthly film club for Atlanta’s curious\, culture-loving community—bringing people together for themed conversations and thoughtfully chosen films at the Tara or Plaza Theatres on the second Saturday of every month. \nJoin us August 8th at The Tara Atlanta for Moonrise Kingdom. Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965\, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love\, make a secret pact\, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down.  If you are a Wes Andersen fan\, you won’t want to miss this! \nYou will also enjoy a pre-show conversation with filmmakers\, Rocco Shapiro\, and Akshay Bhatia! \nRocco Shapiro is a filmmaker with experience in both narrative and commercial storytelling. His award-winning produced shorts and feature films screened at eight Academy-qualifying festivals including Aspen Shorts Fest\, Palm Springs International Film Festival and Atlanta Film Festival. He also hosts monthly film programming events at the Plaza & Tara Theaters under the production company\, Reel Friends. \nAkshay Bhatia is a Georgia-born\, Atlanta-based filmmaker. He recently served as Francis Ford Coppola’s personal assistant and directorial apprentice on Megalopolis; he also aided in directing and writing scenes for the film and apprenticed under Roman Coppola.
