This year’s theme is “We Who Remain: Black Legacy and America at 250” – And this year Closer Look will explore the contributions of African Americans and the African diaspora to the United States, anchored in the historical significance of Juneteenth and culminating in the United States at 250!
As the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, Closer Look will focus on how Black history needs to be preserved, remembered, and carried forward—and asks what stories must be safeguarded for future generations.
The topics will include but are not limited to:
- Infrastructure
- Medicine
- Arts
- And more!
