Everything You May Have Missed During The 76th Golden Globes

This year’s Golden Globe awards show had both triumphs and surprises. The 76th annual awards ceremony handed out statuettes to the best of film and television from 2018.

We sat down with a pair of critics to talk about the most memorable moments of the night. Michael Clark, co-founder of Atlanta Films Critics Circle and Josh Jackson, president and editor-in-chief of Paste Magazine walked us down the red carpet.

“‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was not on any ’50 Best movies list’ nor loved by American film critics. I don’t think you’ll see it repeated at the Oscars,” Jackson said of the film’s win.

One of the highlights of the night was when actress Carol Burnett was given a new award named after her in honor of her achievement in television.

“The biggest surprise of the night was the snubbing of “A Star is Born,’” Clark said. “‘BlackkKlansman,’ ‘Black Panther,’ or ‘Can You Forgive Me’ we’re also snubbed.”

Also, making history last night, Sandra Oh became the first actress of Asian decent to win multiple Golden Globes; the first to person of Asian decent to host the Golden Globes, and the first woman of Asian decent in 39 years to win a Golden Globe for best actress in a television series.

“This is why the award ceremonies are here, to tell people things they might not know about … Sandra Oh gave an amazing performance,” Jackson said.

In case you missed it, here is a list of Golden Globe winners from the 76th award ceremony.
