Feeding America And Helping Those In Need

Feeding America, a national hunger-relief organization, reports that more than 50 million people may face hunger because of the coronavirus pandemic, including a potential 17 million children.
Also, Feeding America concludes, every community in the country is home to families who struggle with food insecurity and rely on their local food banks for support.
The Toco Hills Community Alliance Food Pantry located on La Vista Road in Atlanta feels the increased demand.

As part of WABE’s effort to highlight the “little things” that have changed since the pandemic, the host of WABE’s “Morning Editon,” Lisa Rayam, caught up with Lisa Heilig, Executive Director of The Toco Hills Community Alliance Food Pantry.
It was a pretty busy day for the food pantry.
As Rayam spoke to Heilig, many calls came in from people in need, and people were lining up for food.
