Out on Film Festival

Daniel Karslake’s documentary “For They Do Not Know What They Do” examines the lives of four religious families with LGBTQ children. One of those children includes Pulse Nightclub shooting survivor Vico Baez Febo.

The film will be shown tonight in order to kick off the Out on Film festival. The festival’s mission is to showcase the LGBTQ culture through films by and for the community along with their allies.

Lois Reitzes spoke with festival director Jim Farmer and with film director/documentarian Daniel Karslake about this year’s events.

The festival opens tonight at 7 p.m. at Landmark Midtown Art Cinema and runs through Oct. 6.
