Former DeKalb Commissioner Elaine Boyer Sentenced To 14 Months In Prison

Former DeKalb County Commissioner Elaine Boyer was sentenced to 14 months in prison this afternoon on federal corruption charges. She pleaded guilty to stealing more than $90,000 from the county.

Yesterday, federal prosecutors asked the judge for a reduced sentence because she had cooperated in the investigation that led to the guilty plea of her husband, John Boyer, last month.

They also said her information and testimony may be used in future cases.

She was also asked to pay more than $87,000 in restitution and was sentenced to three years of supervised release.
