Funeral services are set for this week for the DeKalb County officer shot and killed after a traffic stop last week.
Over the weekend, Edgar Flores’ fellow law enforcement officers escorted his body to the Whitfield Funeral home in Northeast Georgia.
Visitation started Sunday and will continue from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday at All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody.
Another service is planned for Wednesday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch.
Monday would have been Flores’ 25th birthday.
He is survived by a fiancee as well as a mother, father, and brother.
Meanwhile, a police dog — who was shot in the head in pursuit of the gunman — lost an eye, but is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing major surgery. Indi, a 7-year-old K9 officer, has been with the police department for five years.
