Ga. School Leaders Meet After Teacher Blasts Obama In Class
Georgia’s NAACP chapter president is calling for a Dublin, Georgia, teacher and her husband — a local school board member — to resign after allegations that the teacher made negative comments about President Barack Obama during class.
Parents of a Georgia middle school student told The Courier Herald of Dublin that the teacher told students that Obama is Muslim and that Christians should not follow him.
The newspaper reports the city’s education board met Monday without the teacher’s husband. Dublin Schools Superintendent Chuck Ledbetter has said he’s told teachers not to take political positions with students, and that the district will release its decision on the matter in a few days.
Georgia NAACP President Francys Johnson says the issue could be resolved with the couple’s resignation.
