GBPI Releases Policy Priorities For 2021 Legislative Session

Taifa Butler, president and CEO of the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, joins “Closer Look” to discuss the top policy priorities that the institute will be monitoring during Georgia’s 2021 legislative session.

COVID-19 response, Medicaid expansion, cash assistance programs for families in need, education and tax reform are among some of the top policy priorities that the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute (GBPI) is tracking during the 2021 legislative session.

According to GBPI’s website, the policy priorities are tied to the  People-Powered Prosperity campaign.

On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Taifa Butler, president and CEO at Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, talked with show host Rose Scott about several topics, including why the policy priorities are so critical this year as the state wrestles with so many challenges that have exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Butler also discussed GBPI’s annual policy conference that’s being held virtually on Jan. 22 and Jan. 29.
