Georgia Farmer Discusses Berry Production Amid Pandemic

As the official start of summer approaches, Georgia’s strawberry season is coming to an end.

Farmers say the best pickings for strawberries happen between May through mid-June.

Kevin Mitcham, the co-owner of Mitcham Farm, was a guest on Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

He talked with show host Rose Scott about the pandemics’ influence on berry production and sales.

He also shared his thoughts on the importance of buying local crops.
