The candidates for Georgia governor didn’t shy away from partisan messaging during their primaries. Democrat Stacey Abrams ran as an “unapologetic progressive.” Republican Brian Kemp ran as a “politically incorrect conservative.”

Now that the general election is underway, the candidates are reaching out to more independent voters. They’re hoping to add those voters to the base supporters the candidates courted during their primaries.
