Georgia’s Jobless Rate Remains Unchanged At 6.3 Percent

State labor officials say Georgia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 6.3 percent is unchanged from the previous month, and still well below the 7.3 percent rate from a year ago.

The Georgia Department of Labor on Thursday announced the most recent numbers from March. The 6.3 percent rate in February and March is the state’s lowest jobless rate since July 2008.

State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said in a statement that Georgia’s jobless rate has either declined or remained steady every month since November 2010, when it was 10.5 percent.
