Grady Memorial Hospital’s Possible Service Cuts: Part 1 of a Talk with CEO John Haupert

Denise Simpson

Next week, Grady Memorial Hospital will find out how much the Fulton County Commission plans to cut from its contribution to the hospital.  An initial draft of the proposed county budget called for a $25 million cut, which is half the county’s annual contribution to Grady.  In response, the hospital is saying it might have to make severe cuts to vital services, including mental health.  In part 1 of a conversation with WABE’s Denis O’Hayer, Grady CEO John Haupert said the hospital had absorbed all of the reductions it could, without putting new limits on service.
