Let’s go, Gobblers!! Way to go, Hush Puppies!!

These are just two of the possible new names the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves could go by soon.

When the Gwinnett Braves asked fans to assist in choosing a new team name for the 2018 season, the goals were to reduce confusion with the Atlanta Braves and fill seats at the minor league franchise’s games.

So earlier this year, fans were encouraged to submit name-change suggestions.

According to the Gwinnett Braves’ website, those “thousands upon thousands” of entries were narrowed down, and the six finalists are:

  • Gwinnett Big Mouths
  • Gwinnett Buttons
  • Gwinnett Gobblers
  • Gwinnett Hush Puppies
  • Gwinnett Lambchops
  • Gwinnett Sweet Teas

Through July 24, fans can go to the team’s website —  www.GwinnettBraves.com —  and vote on the final name for the hometown club.

One request from the club: “Please remember we are looking for a new name that communicates the family fun entertainment we’re known for while paying tribute to the stories of our community.”
