Colin Warner spent 21 years in prison wrongfully convicted of murder, and his best friend Carl “KC” King devoted his life to proving Warner’s innocence because, as he says in the film, “It’s not just about you. It’s bigger than that.”

“Atlanta” actor Lakeith Stanfield portrays Warner in the film. Stanfield and co-star and former NFL cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who portrays King, spoke with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes about the film. Warner was also in studio to talk about his experiences sharing his story.

“Crown Heights” is released in Atlanta theaters Sept. 1.
