High Museum Curator Michael Rooks Honored With Nexus Award

Atlanta artists have a champion at the city’s biggest art museum, and now he’s been honored by another long-standing institution.

Michael Rooks, the Wieland Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the High Museum of Art has received the Nexus Award from the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. The Nexus is the only award given by The Contemporary. Past recipients include the founder of Flux Projects and the Director of the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund.

“Sprawl: Drawing Outside the Lines,” an exhibition of Georgia artists curated by Michael Rooks opens July 19 at the High Museum of Art.
