In the early 1920s, jazz had overtaken Europe, and nowhere more so than in Paris.

This Saturday, The Emory Chamber Music Society will explore “Impressions and Reflections” of that phenomenon as part of the series “Jazz Meets Classics”  at Emory’s Shwartz Center.

The Vega Quartet with noted jazz pianist Gary Motley will also perform the world premiere of their final song during the event.

Will Ransom, pianist and director of the Emory Chamber Music Society previewed the upcoming production. Lois Reitzes also spoke with Atlanta-based pianist Julie Coucheron.

You can see the concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at Emory’s Schwarz Center . Admission is free.
