Even though nonessential Georgia businesses are gearing up to reopen under guidelines outlined by Gov. Brian Kemp, business owners are still tasked with following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations for social distancing to protect the health of their customers and staff.

However, prior to the governor’s announcement on Monday, many small business owners had to devise innovative plans to serve their customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bookish, is a new indie bookstore located in East Atlanta Village.

And like many businesses, the bookstore is temporarily closed for in-person shopping.

But Bookish remains open by selling inventory online.

Kendra Gayle Lee, the owner of Bookish, recently joined “Closer Look” to discuss the immediate actions she’s taken to serve her customers and keep her business afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She also shared how she’s working to protect the health of her customers by offering them free contactless book delivery and by asking them to quarantine their newly purchased books.
