Writing and publishing a book is not a quick process. The manuscript can take years to complete and, even after it is submitted to the publisher, it can take many months more before an actual book exists.

So what happens during the time between a manuscript’s submission and its hitting the bookstore shelves? Much of that time is spent working with editors. Best-selling author Joshilyn Jackson has an inside look at exactly what sort of editing occurs on this edition of “Writer To Reader.”

Joshilyn also has her picks of summer camps for budding creative writers, including Mercer University’s College For Kids program, Margaret Mitchell House’s poetry, creative writing or journalist camps and Atlanta Young Writers Institute’s Summer Writing Workshop.
