Mayor Reed Reveals Bracket Picks Ahead of Final Four in Atlanta

It’s March Madness time and this year Atlanta is hosting the final four. On Monday, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed tipped off the upcoming NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball championship by expressing his enthusiasm about Atlanta’s role and revealing his personal bracket picks.

Mayor Reed made his tournament predictions while standing with the head of Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta’s CNN Center. Reed selected Duke, Miami, Michigan and New Mexico as his final four picks. He predicts Miami will ultimately win the big dance.

“I like the number of seasoned players that Miami have. They’ve been playing together a little longer, and I think in the heat of the tournament, they’re going to be the ones to pull it out.”

And Reed says this year’s tournament is even more exciting because Atlanta is hosting the final four. He expects the championship games to bring approximately $70 million to the city.

“This is event is going to bring excitement, passion and energy to the city of Atlanta, and for the first time in 75 years we’re going to have the championships for divisions 1, 2 and 3.”

The Final Four will take place at the Georgia Dome on April 6th and April 8th.
