A farm in Middle Georgia may have broken the record for the world’s heaviest peach.

Pearson Farm said their peach weighs 1.8 pounds and is larger than a softball.

That’s four times larger than the average peach.

The current record-holder is 1 pound, 12 ounces, according to the Guinness World Records website.

Al Pearson, the owner of the farm, said he’s keeping the peach frozen until the results are verified with Guinness World Records.

But after that, he said he has other plans for the fruit.

“I don’t think that peach deserves to live a life in the freezer. I think it needs to grow up and be what God intended it to be,” Pearson said. “And that’s a peach cobbler.”
