National Nonprofit Releases New Report About Georgia’s Travel, Traffic Trends

A national nonprofit that studies transportation-related data recently released a new report, shining a flashing light on Georgia’s transportation infrastructure.

The report titled “Moving Georgia Forward” is produced by the National Transportation Research Group (TRIP).  The report examines current travel and traffic trends for 12 regions within the Peach State — from Atlanta to southwest Georgia to the coast.

It also documents roads and bridge conditions and identifies the transportation funding needs across the state.

Rocky Moretti, director of policy and research at the National Transportation Research Group, joined Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

Moretti talked with show host Rose Scott about the findings of the statewide report and ways to address transportation deficiencies.

Moretti also discusses how Georgia’s economic growth is directly tied to the condition, efficiency, safety and resiliency of the state’s transportation system.
